It takes focused and consistent efforts to keep the attention of our elected officials who can reach out to the U.S. Navy and the Department of Defense. This page outlines simple steps you can take to do your part.

2. Contact your local, state, and federal elected officials to require real-time noise monitoring in all communities impacted by the Electronic Attack, EA-18G, training flights. Congress has the ability to impose this requirement and require independent analysis of the data. This provision is being considered NOW in congressional committees.
3. Download the National Parks Conservation Association Growler Tracker App and help build a map of everywhere the Growlers can be heard throughout Olympic National Park. Another great tool for tracking Growler activity at home, work, or in nature is Decibel X, available in the App Store. Post your screen shots on social media and tag Sound Defense Alliance.
4. Write a Letter to the Editor of the Seattle Times (max. 200 words) to: letters@seattletimes.com
It’s important to know that many of those who are “in charge” do not relate well to emotional pleas. They respond better to data and to succinctly stated facts. Download a decibel app on your phone and report the decibel measurements of the Growler noise, for instance, rather than saying only how it makes you feel emotionally or only trying to describe the physical sensation. Include specific data such as how often the jets pass over, whether you have had a diagnosis of PTSD, and so on.
